Though she is a material girl, she is also a plain jane. She may be a party animal. But all she wants, is to be loved and cared.
Why do I say so? On my way to work today, the bus was playing 97.2 fm. Today's topic is possible hike of taxi fare. People are invited to call in to give their opinion on this issue. One man called in (probably in his 40s, from my guess) and said that there shouldn't be a price increment. He said that with the increasing fuel price, the taxi drivers earn lesser and thus, there should be a price increment. However, by doing so, passengers may find it expensive and try to avoid taking taxi. As a result, business will go down and still, the drivers earn lesser.
Up to here, what this man said make total sense. So he proposed a solution: why not the government provide subsidy instead of price hike? At first I was like, hmm, this is a good suggestion as this is a win-win situation - passengers don't need to pay more, business will be good, and the drivers will earn more money too. But it strike me why the government again? Other than seeking help from the government, Singaporeans cannot solve problems themselves? No wonder that Lee Ao say Singaporeans are stupid people.
Oh well, I'm a Singaporean as well, that makes me stupid too. Anyway, the price hike could be another "move" of the government. Remember what Rockson say about after taking the progress package?
